DIY Slate Top Side Table - Part 2

Instructors: Katie & Lacey

Cost: $95 (includes all materials)

This is class that will take place in two parts: Thursday, March 8th and Thursday, March 15th, both from 6:00-8:00 p.m. You only need to register for Part 1 of this course.

In this class, you will learn to design and create your own slate top side table! We will provide all the wood, screws, measurements of cuts, and other materials needed to complete this project. Wood will be milled prior to your arrival, but you are responsible for making all cuts for the legs, sides, and face boards of your table. You will learn proper technique for ensuring your table is level and steady by making accurate, replicable measurements.

Once all cuts are made, you will learn the technique for placing pocket holes, a commonly used screw joint in furniture making. You will also learn to apply brace rails, allowing you to rest your tile and lower boards within the table.

Once you have learned these technique, you can go on to make more side tables, desks, coffee tables – the options are endless! We will then sand and finish our tables, and you will leave with your table and the skills needed to make more pieces of your own!

Not sure if you are ready for this class? You can either sign up for our Woodworking 101 class, or else message us ahead of time and we will work with you to ensure that you are adequately prepared by the time of the first class.

Please wear clothes and shoes you will not mind getting dirty.

Spots are limited. To guarantee a seat, please register below.
